Creating Long-Term Jobs
Poverty alleviation thanks to flourishing nature.

Fair working conditions
As far as we know, we are the only employer that legally employs the villagers in Fihaonana.
Two to three times the average salary in Fihaonana
A permanent employment contract for the first time
Social and health insurance for the first time
42 hours of weekly working time
30 paid holiday days per year

CHF 91 gross monthly wage: a lot of money in rural Madagascar
The workers receive a gross monthly wage of at least MGA 455'000 - almost twice as much as the statutory minimum wage in Madagascar. But that alone is not enough. Our goal is to increase the gross wage by around 10 % annually from 2025.
Work that changes lives
Pride and appreciation
How does a father feel when he can suddenly afford Christmas presents for his children, or a housewife who becomes the main breadwinner in the family?
Quality of life
A newly built home made of clay, investment in your own livestock or a bicycle: the improvement in quality of life can be seen in many ways. One of the ways in which we support employees is through a six-monthly employee appraisal.
Role model function
The employees are envied in the community for their good working conditions. It is therefore all the more important to us that they act as role models. Conversely, there is no tolerance for domestic violence, children dropping out of school or excessive alcohol consumption. Behaviour that is unfortunately widespread in Fihaonana.
Financial security
Employees' wages are transferred to their personal account at the SMMEC savings bank on the 20th of each month. This allows them to decide for themselves when and how much cash they want to withdraw. This increases both their savings potential and their personal security, as they do not have as much cash at home.
