Forest Bendambo

We will restore the Bendambo forest on this degraded grassland between January 2025 and February 2027.

A look into the future

Hard to imagine, but true: in future, Bendambo will look similar to the Ankafobe Special Reserve pictured below, which is located 50 kilometres north of Bendambo. This contrast emphasises the project's high degree of efficiency.

Overview

«Bendambo» is the historical name of the property in Malagasy and means «place with many wild boars».

3'000 kg of roasted coffee per year

Through our cultivation of coffee, the Bendambo forest will supply around 3 tonnes of roasted coffee per year from 2032 and generate a non-profit turnover of at least CHF 120'000 per year. A minimum market price of CHF 40 per kg is more than justified in view of the quality and the unique cultivation method. With an average consumption of 1'069 cups of coffee per person per year, we are convinced that our high-quality coffee will be in great demand in Switzerland.
